We arrived in Paris this morning at 7:30a, neither of us having slept a minute on the plane. Coach class in American Airlines leaves something to be desired.
We got out of the Metro at the St Michel stop and what was the first thing we saw? The Notre-Dame! (So we took some photos).
The hotel is beautiful, tucked away in the Latin Quarter, but our room wasn’t ready, so as much as we wanted to nap, we spent the next 4 hours wandering around- back to Notre-Dame, Quai de la Tournelle, breakfast on Boulevard Saint Germain, Jardin des Plantes. We took a quick nap when we got into the room and then went exploring again- checking out the Left Bank and Jardin du Luxembourg. What a day!
It’s 9:30p, still light out, we’re both completely exhausted, but incredibly happy, and now it’s time for bed.
Au revoir!
Bonjour,mes amis!
I hope you are sleeping soundly in your wonderful room. I am so glad to hear you are safely on the other side of the pond.
It is very hot and humid here – Longwood’s email server is down – great! I always have stuff I can do without email, but it’s a pain.
Tomorrow is Quarterly Meeting at another local meeting – I forget where. Then Robin’s crab fest/birthday bash down by the river. Way too hot for me, but Dad intends to go early and will probably stay late.
Have fun exploring the City of Light – take lots of pictures – eat yummy food!
love,
your mom/Sandy
Bon soir!
Ihr Lieben!
Great to hear from you!!!
As we are seeing the world thru your Broolkyn eyes, we are thinking about you over there in Paris wishing you the most beautiful honeymoon!
I saw the 3 Germans friends off yesterday morning, did not hear from them so they must have made it to Newark in time.
We never left Brooklyn, just wandered around the Park and the Slope and then went to visit Musician friends in Sunset Park. NY Philharmonics in the park in the eve followed by fireworks.
Slept for 9 hours!!!!!!!!!!wow! and off to Red hook in the afternoon for a artist collaborative gallery opening and some jazz by our friends. Its great to be able to stay here – we are making the best of it!
Can’t wait for the next postcard, I love it!
Love
